Merlin Capability Sustainment Plus (MCSP)

Worked on the Royal Navy Merlin helicopter programme Merlin Capability Sustainment Plus (MCSP).

Developed C++ and Visual C++ /.NET software for the integration test rigs using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. These test rigs were used for hardware and software integration of the flight software developed for the Merlin Tactical Mission Computer (TMC). These included multi-threaded applications communicating using XML via TCP/IP sockets and OpenGL graphics.

Involved in full development lifecycle.  Captured requirements using DOORS. Designed in UML using Enterprise Architect.  Used design patterns (observer and singleton). Configuration control using Serena Version Manager.

Tactical Environment Controller

This application monitored simulation-supplied data and redistributed this data to other aircaft simulators and stimulators that formed part of the integration test rig for TMC being developed by Lockheed Martin.

Run-Time Viewer

This application monitored simulation-supplied data and plotted this data on a graphical display.  It also provided a means to update this simulation data.

The Run-Time Viewer used a TCP/IP  sockets connection to the Tactical Environment Controller application with data being transitted over this link in an XML format.  The Run-Time Viewer itself was developed in C++ and MFC using Visual Studio 2005 with OpenGL used for the graphics display.
